Pick A Path
Pick A Path is an ios game that teaches math through puzzles.
The basic gameplay in the app is simple. You guide an octopus character down various avenues that change your number by addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. Each level has a specific goal, such as getting lower scores, higher or a specific value. Upon finishing a level the user is rewarded a score out of 3 stars.
This type of game appeals to children who like a challenge. The player must understand basic math skills in order to progress. The re-playability by getting closer to the asked or targeted number rewards the player, which pushes them to play more.
For those children who like to better their scores, enjoy a challenge and are in need of Math practice, this app is ideal. It is recommended to improve the STEM subject of Mathematics.
Some questions to ask your child while playing:
Do they understand what is happening with each number?
Can they explain what each math symbol means?
Are they engaged enough to try and better their original score?
