Math Planet

Math Planet is an iOS game that specializes in teaching basic Math, one of the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through various small games.

The game allows a player to pick an appropriate age range from grade 1 to middle school levels. The games are the same among the younger grades and change to different types of gameplay for the older user. The games range from basic math questions such as counting for younger children, time telling and more advanced areas of understanding Math such as fractions for older children.

The variety of games provided coupled with the ability to choose from a wide range of age levels make this a solid purchase for any age. The app itself is a free download with 1 world unlocked, which contains 6 levels. An in app purchase is available for $9.99 to unlock all levels. This is definitely a game worthy of purchase.

Some questions to ask your child:

Is your child selecting answer randomly or do they understand why they are correct or incorrect?

Can they translate what they are learning into real world scenarios, such as telling what time it really is?

Are they engaged enough to attempt to beat their scores?
